Resize & Fill
Expand or crop an existing image to fit a new size or aspect ratio. When the canvas is extended, the system generates new content that blends seamlessly with the original image.
This capability can be used across Text-to-Image outputs, Scene Forge scenes, and Reimagine edits when adapting creatives to different formats.
How It Works
AI expands or crops an existing image to fit a new size or aspect ratio. When the canvas is extended, the system generates new content that blends seamlessly with the original image.
How to Use
Step 1 — Open Resize & Fill
From an existing image variation, click the edit action to open the Resize & Fill dialog.
Step 2 — Adjust the Canvas
Use the canvas handles to control the new dimensions.
- Drag outward to extend the image (AI fills the new area).
- Drag inward to crop the image.
Step 3 — Describe the Fill (Optional)
Add a prompt describing what should appear in the extended area.
Example: "white studio background with soft shadow"
If left empty, AI automatically analyzes the image and fills the space.
Step 4 — Apply
Click Apply Changes to generate the resized image. Generation takes 1–2 minutes and produces a new variation.
Options
- Prompt: Optional description of the fill content.
- Output Dimensions: Set by dragging canvas handles (max 4096 px per side).
- Canvas Adjustment: Crop or extend any edge (left, right, top, bottom).
Best Practices
- Leave the prompt blank for simple or studio-style backgrounds.
- Avoid extreme aspect ratio changes in one step.
