Identify & Replace

Edit a specific region of an image without regenerating the entire creative. Mask the area you want to change, describe what should be inserted or removed, and the system updates only that region while keeping the rest of the image intact.

This editing capability is available across Text-to-Image, Scene Forge, and Reimagine when refining or adapting existing visuals.

How It Works

AI removes or replaces specific objects in an image without regenerating the entire creative. Simply mask the area you want to change, describe what should be removed or added, and the system updates only that region.

How to Use

Step 1 — Select the Object

Mask the area you want to modify.

  • Point Tool: Click to place individual markers.
  • Brush+: Paint to add areas to the selection.
  • Brush−: Paint to remove parts of the selection.
  • Zoom: 50%, 100%, 200%, or 400% for precise selection.

Click Generate Mask (10–20 seconds). Once confirmed, the workflow automatically moves to Step 2.

Click Clear Mask at any time to restart the selection.

Step 2 — Describe the Change

Fill in one or both prompts, or leave them empty. If both are empty, AI will remove the object from the masked area.

  • Insert Object — describe what should appear in the selected area.
    • Example: "a modern white sneaker on a reflective surface".
  • Remove Object — describe what should be removed. The AI will fill the area naturally.
    • Example: "the price tag on the bottle".

You can use either prompt alone, combine both for precise replacements, or leave both empty.

Click Edit Picture to generate the updated image.

Best Practices

  • Zoom to 200–400% for precise selections around small objects.
  • Use Brush+ to select shadows and artifacts. This helps AI remove artifacts, not just the main object.
  • Keep the selection tight to avoid changing nearby areas.
  • Use this tool for targeted edits, not for creating entirely new scenes.
